I am about to settle into my February vacation from teaching and I look forward to writing some new comics. As a warm-up exercise I decided to create a tribute to my favorite comedian, Maria Bamford. She is a courageously honest and wonderfully absurd humorist who I deeply admire. This particular joke of hers seemed to beg me to illustrate it (in my mind) after I listened to her latest album, Let Me Tell You About My New God. I was inspired by her ability to weave the topics of mental health awareness, artistic aspirations, and bullies together in an entertaining way. She is just great. Lovely. I love her.
